The most useful AI feature rarely begins with a model. It begins with someone trying to finish a task and getting stuck.
Start with a moment of friction.
Consider a support specialist preparing a response. The difficult part may not be writing the answer. It may be finding the correct policy, checking whether it is current and understanding what has already been promised.
A writing assistant alone adds another tool. A well-designed knowledge workflow removes a step. The difference is a clear view of the work that happens before and after the visible interaction.
Define a useful outcome.
Before selecting a capability, describe what success would look like in plain language. The team can locate a relevant source. The answer includes enough context to evaluate it. An uncertain result is easy to escalate.
Design for the decision a person needs to make, not just the output a system can produce.
AIQENTA / Product principle
Make uncertainty visible.
A confident tone is not evidence. Give people the source material, distinguish suggestions from completed actions and make it possible to correct the system without starting over.
For actions with consequences, a review step can be part of a fast experience. A concise preview of what will happen helps people make an informed decision while keeping momentum.
Build a narrow first version.
Choose one audience, one common task and a small set of approved information. Test the ordinary cases and the uncomfortable ones: missing context, conflicting sources, unavailable tools and requests outside the intended scope.
- 01Observe the current task from beginning to end.
- 02Identify one measurable source of friction.
- 03Prototype the smallest useful intervention.
- 04Review the result with the people who will use it.
- 05Expand only when the first workflow is dependable.
Measure what changes for people.
Speed is only one signal. Look at whether people can explain the result, recover from an error and complete the larger task. A feature that produces more output but creates more checking may not be helping.
Useful AI makes a real activity easier to understand and complete. That is a modest brief, and a demanding one.
